Our Vineyards

Château La Coste’s history traces back to Roman times, when the gently rolling hills north of Aix-en-Provence were first recognised for their exceptional soils and sun-drenched exposures. The estate evolved over centuries as a traditional Provençal domaine, centred around its 17th-century bastide and surrounding farmland, and produced its first vintage in 1962. In the early 2000s, a visionary restoration began—reviving the vineyards through organic and biodynamic practices and transforming the property into a unique cultural destination where art, architecture, and agriculture coexist. Guided by this renewed philosophy, Château La Coste today stands as a modern expression of a centuries-old Provençal heritage, rooted in craftsmanship, terroir, and creativity.

On the other side of the world, yet guided by the same philosophy, La Coste de Los Andes carries the shared ethos of Château La Coste into the dramatic landscapes of the Uco Valley in Mendoza. Framed by the soaring Andes and nourished by pure mountain air and glacial waters, the estate embraces organic farming, meticulous plot selection, and a minimalist approach to winemaking that honours the integrity of the fruit. Here, high-altitude vineyards yield wines of remarkable freshness, depth, and precision, crafted with the same devotion to terroir, craftsmanship, and artistic harmony that defines Provence.

Though continents apart, the two estates are united by a singular vision: to create wines that reflect the spirit of their landscapes and the artistry woven into their foundations.

The soil has little organic matter, is stony and with a large presence of calcium carbonate.
